United boss Munoz misses out on planned board promotion

New York (dpa) – US carrier United Airlines announced Friday it would change the conditions of the contract of its embattled chairman Oscar Munoz. The 58-year-old will not be additionally appointed as chairman of the company’s board of directors next year, despite it originally being part of his contract, the company said in a report to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company has suffered a public relations disaster following the forceful removal of one of its passenger from an overbooked US flight, first reported on April 10.
